Celebrating Sebastopol’s Car-Free Day in Sebastopol’s Town Plaza! All kid powered zero emission vehicles welcome – including skates, skate boards, scooters and wagons! Kids 4-10 should be escorted by an adult. Older children can join their siblings or take part in Section Two. Pets in baskets and/or on leashes welcome. Organized by Car-Lite, LITE Initiatives, Transition Sebastopol and the Sebastopol Farmers Market! Our goal is to get 1,000 people to the Plaza between 10 am and 1 pm – without their car! Folks are encouraged to travel by foot, skates, skateboard, bike or any other kind of human powered transit. If you live out of town, consider parking near a bike path and walking or riding in from there; carpooling is also an environmentally friendly option – invite your neighbors to join you.
Help wanted: Car-Lite needs parade monitors and a team to gather non-toxic art supplies, set up and staff a decorating table at the Skate Park at 11:45 am and move it to the plaza at 12:15 pm.
