NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors on September 29, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers, Room 102A, 575 Administration Drive, Santa Rosa, California to consider an ordinance approving the divestiture of the certain County solid waste system assets.

The proposed divestiture is being conducted pursuant to Government Code sections 25515 through 25515.5, and includes the proposed sale of the County Central Landfill and Central Transfer Station, located at 500 Mecham Road, Petaluma, the Sonoma Transfer Station, located at 4376 Stage Gulch Road, Sonoma, and the Annapolis Transfer Station, located at 33549 Annapolis Road, Annapolis, along with a 75 year lease of the Guerneville Transfer Station, located at 13450 Pocket Drive, Guerneville, and Healdsburg Transfer Station, located at 166 Alexander Road, Healdsburg, to Republic Services of Sonoma County, Inc. (“Republic”), pursuant to that certain Purchase and Sale Agreement. The transfer of assets is contingent upon Republic securing necessary permits allowing it to resume disposal operations at the Central Landfill. Upon the transfer of the assets, the transaction also includes a 20 year solid waste flow commitment from the County to Republic.
